Wow, that's gorgeous! The bondage thing I cared about a little less than the actual puppet theme, so the metaphorical bondage works perfectly fine to me. The outfits on both Ahiru and Fakir are really beautifully detailed. Ahiru's reminds me of the outfit Rue wears on the cover of disc 5. (Also, I'm really amused by the fact that you remembered I have a thing for Fakir's birthmark...very lovely ♥)

I would go ahead and post it on the community...I don't think it's any worse than anything in the actual series.

I don't know. This is pretty different from what a lot of people have gotten use to seeing for Fakiru fanart. Going from a sweet and innocent mood to a heavy and mature mood can be difficult. And it's hard pining any sensual undertones to this pairing without making it seem jarring and I just don't know if some people might react adversely toward it. :\Or it's just a sign that I'm thinking too much again

That's true, in a way, but even the show has a few moments that seem sensual for the two (definitely the promo vid, but also when Fakir's transformed into a tree in a way, as well as the pas-de-deux in the Lake of Despair). As long as you put a warning and cut it, I don't think anyone would be bothered.

Those scenes are sensual but in a much more...innocent sort of way. In any case, I made a post for it on the PT community already so we'll see how it goes. ^^;

Egads, that is stunning! I think you nailed the theme well (and I like the contrast of the red puppet strings to Ahiru and Fakir's subtle colors). I really love Ahiru's outfit (the high leggings work nicely with this, I think) and Fakir's torn sleeves. I think both are visually attractive and suit the characters. The soft expressions are nicely done, too. Overall the composition is well put together and executed. Excellent work~!

And you really pulled off making the picture/posing sensual without being blatant about it. Their expressions, the muted colors, the "bondage" puppet strings with the fasteners/collars and the positions of Ahiru's hands on Fakir all add to that vibe and atmosphere. Oh---And I also randomly noted that Ahiru's ears were pierced. XD (I think that's the first time I've seen her with earrings, so it was kind of a surprise and interesting to see~).

I'd say post it on the PT community, by all means! There's nothing offensive about it at all from what I can see and I think other fans would really appreciate this, too.

Like I told Haley, I'm just a bit worried some people might not like it. Like that person who didn't want to see the Japanese fanart for the kink meme. There was nothing really implicit about the image itself (after all, we all know Ahiru ends up naked after she transforms), but that person apparently thought there was more to the image. I think some people might get turned off by the style and the imagery I used in this fanart. After all most fans don't, and some probably simply can't, equate Fakiru with bondage to any degree. But in any case, I think I will post it (knowing myself, I can't resist wanting to show it to people >>;;), but I'll have to warn people plenty in advance but remember to not scare them off either. D=

Honestly? I wouldn't worry about it. What that one person had a problem with was that I didn't put mine under a cut. And I had a sneaking suspicion that was going to happen. Some people just complain like that because they CAN. And I was dumb enough to leave them the opening by not putting that under an LJ cut. Anyway, the point is, there's always going to be someone who doesn't like things, regardless of what it is or how it's displayed or anything. If you can look past that and concentrate on those who do like it, then you're one step ahead. I think Haley and I learned that a little better from the hate secret we got on Fandom!Secrets about our role-playing. As things turned out, it was a very minority opinion.

I don't know if you saw Sami's work or not, but she used bright red warnings and everything and she got pretty good feedback on her mature Fakiru fanart. And uh... it was way more mature than this, at least. XD So like I said, I really wouldn't worry.

Well, the idea isn't so much as overcoming their roles but another way of representing them being held captive by their roles. They're like mannequins with strings attached to their arms and legs, and Fakir's hands are tied behind his back so he can not write.

Why do I never tire of your pictures? Is it the attentive detail and design of clothes or the hanging threads of hair? Is it the subtle and romantic touch to it with still a hint of matureness? Or could it possibly be the fantastic and intimate air that surrounds Fakir and Ahiru, binding them symbolically and literally? Drosselmeyer's power could not have spun a story as magical, pretty, or deep as this picture ^_^ (and it's obvious I'm a fan here, haha).

Oh, so you see, that the final result was incredibly beautiful! I really like all your drawings but these particular type of more mature pictures also turn out wonderfully and with a unique, and dreamy air (or at least in this last picture's case).
I was just thinking that it would also make an attractive doujinshi cover ;D haha.

Interestingly enough, my friend and I were thinking of the same thing after I had just finished the picture. I asked her what she think the story would be like if I used this as a cover for a doujinshi, and she said it would be a story that was rather angsty and dark. Who knows, if I ever find the time and inspiration I might do a short one-shot based on this image, but regardless of back story I'm always interested in what people think about my pictures and their reactions to it. :)

In terms of background information I could possibly imagine it happening during Act 23 or of course (since it would be a little strange for something of the like to happen during the series) doing a pseudo post-series, AU, or What if? -esque ficlet (and since I'm obsessed with that episode, the plot could draw inspiration from Act 23. I could strangely envision this idea of Fakir and Ahiru actually being puppets wishing to be free...) Ahahaha, my imagination is running wild thanks to this picture ^^; .

In the prompt Haley mentioned an AU setting so that's kind of what I went with. But there isn't necessarily a plot to this picture. I just wanted to capture a feeling and a mood. It could still make a nice cover though. XD It captures the mood of a doujin without actually giving away anything about the plot or rather it gives misdirections about the plot XD;;.
